Milly

by Tina O'Neill

Despite being dyslexic Tina has collaborated on three books with the Valley Writers as well as writing several pieces herself.

She has been challenged many times to write a serious pece but her sense of humour always gets the better of her. She would love to write a great thriller but although she has started several pieces of this genre she has not finished any because they end up being funny. Tina's work with children has inspired her to write Milly, which she has read to several of her classes. One class in particular were so impressed that they are now helping her with a second book about Milly's adventures.

Join Milly and her mother as they are forced from their home by the evil Steak House owner Captain Cow. Follow them through the woods to Aunty Patsy's and accompany Milly through her splendid and magical old house. Togethet you find the spaghetti, which taste like apple, hanging from the basement ceiling. You can explore the green room and meet Bengi the tiger, Sammy the snake and their many friends. Find out what happens when Milly is told,'never enter the black room. Milly has many adventures in the numerous rooms of this extraordinary house and meets lots of strange characters. They are all paintings on the walls, which come to life to help save the house and Milly's family from the evil Captain Cow. The author wishes to thank the children in year four at St Benet's Primary School, Ouston for their help in writing this 'blurb'.

So far we have posted three extracts on this site: Moving Day, New Friends and Old Enemies.
